Within the LONGRUN project, Garrett will simulate, design and provide prototype turbochargers to meet the stringent Post Euro7 targets of WP4 & WP5 engines.
The focus will be on E-Turbo, which is a turbocharger equipped with a high-speed electric motor on the shaft.
The combination enables turbo compounding, supercharging and enhanced aftertreatment thermal management, in conjunction with hybrid powertrains.
Both the base turbocharger and E-Module performance will be optimized using 1-d system simulations, targeting lowest emissions, best system efficiency and benchmark performance for Real World vehicle missions.
